Salary: £4/hr apprentice rate

The apprentice playworker will be responsible for providing appropriate activities for the developmental needs of children aged 5-16 while working towards a playwork qualification.

The apprentice will ensure that best practice is achieved in delivery; providing a safe environment for children to play; promoting and supporting the playground in line with management committee policy. Five hours of their working week will be allocated for study.

Weavers is an adventure playground that caters for the diverse multi-cultural society that surrounds the area and was founded in 1974.  We are open access and are committed to providing as many play types as possible.  We aim to provide a challenging but safe environment for children. 

The playground is open term time Tuesday-Friday 3.30pm-5.45pm, Saturday 12-5pm.  During the school holidays we open Monday-Friday 11am-5.30pm.  It is our aim to eventually open 6 or 7 days per week, dependent on funding. Please note this post is subject to an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check and satisfactory references.
