Camp Build

Camp Build is a three-year project funded by the Mayor of London’s Young London Inspired Fund. We are now looking for participants.

Each year (2019-2021) London Play will run three ‘build in the wild’ weekend camps for 11-15-year olds who like building stuff (go-karts, tree-houses, ramps etc.), or want to learn how to.

The camps will give young people skills that they can use when they return to their playgrounds, to help with the upkeep and development of the site. In addition, new routes to apprenticeships, workplace training and ultimately paid work will be laid out with support given.

Dates for 2019 are:

31 May - 02 Jun
14 Jun - 16 Jun
13 Sep - 15 Sep

Each camp will provide free places for 20 young people (10 each from two London adventure playgrounds, preferably geographically close to each other). Two adventure playground workers from each playground will also be funded to attend.

We want to make sure this generation of kids get the same chance to experiment safely as previous generations did.Want to know more? Download the project overview and handbook below, watch this short film or email us for more information. See you in the wild?
