Lollard Street Adventure Playground was one of the first adventure playgrounds in England, built in 1946 on the site of a bombed out school. Now it not only provides free play sessions for young people aged 6-16 years, but is also a vital facility for the North Lambeth community, providing sports facilities for local schools, meeting spaces, birthday party venues and Forest School sessions plus lots more.

We are looking for a positive and experienced individual to take overall responsibility for promoting and delivering the very best example of free play and child-centered activities at Lollard Street Adventure Playground

The manager will join the organisation at an exciting point, as we embark on the first stage of a building programme that will eventually replace our 1956 prefabricated building and allow us to expand the services we currently offer to meet the needs of young people over sixteen. The successful applicant will be an experienced people manager, responsible for supervising and supporting the deputy manager as well as managing the recruitment and supervision of all other staff, contracted and sessional.

A thorough understanding of the benefits of play is essential as are excellent financial management skills and good written and verbal communication. The person to be appointed will have a qualification in playwork or similar and certificates in safeguarding to level 2.
