Play/youth workers

Part-time Play/Youth Worker 

Hours: 18-20 hrs/week (after school & evening sessions) in term time

Salary: £12.42/hr incl.holiday pay

Markfield is a dynamic charity in Haringey with a community centre and adventure playground. We run play sessions and social clubs for disabled children and adults and their families.

We are looking for committed and energetic Play /Youth Workers to work on our after school clubs and holiday playschemes for children and young people with learning disabilities and autism.

This role involves driving a 16-seater minibus to and from sessions as well as working on the sessions. You must have a valid driving license that you have held for at least 2 years. You do not need any prior experience of driving a
minibus, as we will provide training (the MIDAS course).

We welcome applications from candidates that have experience in either children’s playwork or youth work, or adult support work, as Markfield can develop your skills in working with a range of age groups.

Hours and working pattern:
We are currently able to offer part-time work for 18 to 20 hours a week during term-times (30 weeks a year) at the following times/ sessions:
• Tuesday evening club for young people aged 16 to 25 years (3pm - 10.30pm)
• Thursday after school club for young people aged 5 to 12 years (2.30 – 8pm)
• Friday after school club for young people aged 11 to 18 years (2.30 – 8pm)
In addition to the above sessions in term-time there is also the opportunity to work on our holiday playschemes.

Successful applicants will be required to provide references and undertake a criminal record (DBS) check.
