Thrills and spills for capital's kids

Teams of budding racing drivers, automotive engineers and builders competed against one another to build go-karts and race them at Mudchute Farm on the Isle of Dogs. 

Mudchute Farm went go-kart bad for a build and race event hosted by London Play, a groupd that encourages kids to enjoy the outdoors. And racers got real inspiration from motor racing legend John Surtees, winner of the 1964 Formula 1 world championship, who was on hand to give advice and ideas to 14 teams of youngsters from across the capital.
