West Play is a voluntary organisation applying for charitable status and has a diverse and experienced management committee including representatives from local tenants and residents groups, housing providers and individuals with expertise in play and community regeneration.

Since it was established in 1998 West Play has worked with other local voluntary organisations to facilitate a number of initiatives that have benefited local youngsters, with funding resourced from a number of different sources. These have included a Community Arts Project culminating in a mural in St Paul's Recreation Ground, the provision of Playwork Training to local community groups and providers, and an extensive programme of consultation and participation with children and young people to shape the services delivered by Hounslow Children's Fund Partnership in the Brentford area and subsequently participate in the evaluation of their effectiveness.

West Play has also taken on the role of facilitating a number of holiday playschemes and the introduction of open-access, after school play clubs to serve the residents of the Syon, Brent Lea, Haverfield, Brentford Towers, and Clayponds estates in Brentford.

In November 2006 West Play recieved funding from the EBCC (The Ealing and Brentford Consolidated Charities) for a development worker to raise the profile of Children's Play and Leisure in Brentford, as well as increasing the range of play, leisure, sports and creative activities available to children and young people in the area.
