Local transport plans should be strategically aligned with the Children and Young Peoples Plan

New guidance has been published on Local Transport Plans, (in London the London boroughs are required to produce Local Implementation Plans for the London Mayor's Transport Plan).

For the first time the Dept for Transport has put together a set of information to ensure transport planners take children's needs for access to play, sports and recreation into account when developing these plans.

Use this information to input ideas to both your local Transport Plan, and the Children and Young Peoples Plan. If officials say the plan is finalised, ask when it will next be reviewed, most are reviewed annually, so diary in your next chance to influence your local authority to make things better for children and young people in your community.
