No to No Ball Games

Tim Wallder and Alan Sutton led a seminar at the Children and Young People Now Show at Earls Court on 19 May 2009. Participants were invited to think up 10 top tips for parents and playworkers to help ensure that children can play out in public space.

Of course we do not advocate children kicking balls against people's windows, or keeping them awake late at night playing football, but we think there needs to be a reasonable balance.

Could someone in the football press please write an article explaining how the recent reduction in our children's free play has led to the predominance of foreign players in the leagues? Parents in other lands are not so obsessed with safety!
