Play Associations and Play Strategy managers need to engage with the new strategic decision making processes being set up for local areas by central government.

Sustainable Community Strategies managed by Local Strategic Partnerships (LSP) in each borough are how it will be done. Local Area Agreements (LAA) will be the way improvement is measured, and from April 2009 there will be a new LAA specifically designed for quantifying play improvements, negotiated by Play England.
